Structure of Presence Facilitator Training

Description

For more than 30 years, our facilitators have honed their expertise through experience, training, and commitment to their own growth and awareness. They bring this wisdom to the Structure of Presence Facilitator Training. This three-day workshop is designed to share the unique skills of Sherrie Frank, our lead facilitator, with others. For our 2023 session, leadership consultant Susan Muck also will be on hand. Susan is known for her depth of knowledge and insight as a facilitator, coach, and consultant.

Participants will have time with each of the workshop’s facilitators, learning and practicing the heart of our facilitation model (see below).

This workshop is recommended for people working in personal or professional development or those who are working toward becoming a professional in these fields: personal and leadership development training, human resources, counseling, therapy, coaching, workshop facilitation, health care, and ministry. Attendees may apply to enter a La Clinica facilitator training program after completing this workshop.

A Brief Description of The Learning Well Facilitation & Capabilities Model

Most participants in our workshops tell us that the experience changed their life.  Said another way, the participants themselves made positive changes in their lives after experiencing one or more workshops. For this to occur, neuroscience tells us that two important things must happen:

  • The participant has inspiring insights about new possibilities for themselves.
  • The participant put these insights into repeated practice over a sufficient period through positive experiences that integrate, enhance, and create deep, lasting change.

For these to occur, the social arts & sciences tell us that the learning environment for the above must:

  • Build sufficient trust and safety for self-discovery and authentic self-expression so our innate aliveness, insight, and empathy blossoms.
  • Activate a group’s innate desire for compassion and shared wisdom to catalyze learning.

Participants create the kind of learning that leads to greater freedom and sustained desired changes.  They may come to a workshop during transition or with the sense that something is ‘missing’ or ‘wrong’ in their lives.  They leave with the experience of being present, alive, open-hearted, curious, and with hope and conviction to continue to act on their awareness.

Such experiences are co-created by everyone in the workshop and guided by our facilitators, who:

  • Embody and model the purposes of the workshop. This includes life-long learning and growth; being present, not perfect or an expert, and managing our ego.
  • Direct and invite others’ attention to self-awareness and experiences that integrate the whole body (heart, body, mind, and spirit) in learning and create sustained change over time.
  • With unconditional regard, our facilitators embolden, support, challenge, and empower an intentional community of self-directed individuals.
