Healthcare Interpreter Training

Prepare for Oregon’s certification test or complete continuing-ed modules

Healthcare Interpreter Training

Description

La Clinica’s Healthcare Interpreter Training helps prepare new healthcare interpreters. They are the bridge between healthcare providers and patients who speak limited English. Their work ensures all patients receive the best care.

Participants get training in medical terminology, dialects, and regional language variation. Ethics and an interpreter’s role are covered. This course meets the 60-hour training requirements for the Oregon Health Authority Healthcare Interpreter application. Participants must pass bilingual language assessments to enroll. This class is a step in receiving Oregon’s healthcare interpreter certification.

La Clinica also offers continuing education modules for qualified and certified healthcare interpreters. These modules cover a variety of subjects. Call us for more information.
